YouLoveWords is a content marketing agency that evolved from an online platform connecting brands with writers. This transition aimed to better serve premium brands by providing tailored content marketing solutions. When I joined YouLoveWords as a freelancer, the company was undergoing a significant shift in its business model. They aimed to reposition themselves as a content marketing agency but lacked a cohesive marketing strategy to generate leads and establish a strong presence in the new market.
What I did
Developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy
My primary task was to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to generate leads, enhance brand visibility, and support the founder in establishing the agency’s online influence. This required shifting from cold emailing campaigns to a broader demand generation approach aligned with the agency’s new identity.
- Demand Generation Strategy: I developed and executed a strategy focused on attracting premium brands. This included creating targeted marketing campaigns and content tailored to potential clients’ needs.
- Content Marketing Strategy: I formulated a content marketing strategy that positioned YouLoveWords as an authority in content creation for premium brands, emphasizing high-quality content and storytelling.
- Campaign Management: I managed and optimized various marketing campaigns across platforms like Meta, LinkedIn, and Twitter. We also tried Native advertising, media buying, and competitor piggybacking. We included A/B testing to refine messaging and improve engagement rates in everything we did.
- Website Redesign: I led the redesigning of the agency’s website to enhance user experience, ensuring that it effectively communicated its value proposition and showcased client success stories.
- Account-Based Marketing and Lead Management Implementation: I implemented HubSpot to streamline lead management processes, set up automated workflows for lead nurturing, and established a structured approach to lead qualification. I also briefly worked with account-based marketing software to personalise prospect-facing content and target companies that fit our ideal customer profile.
Achievements :
- Lead Generation Success: Our initial lead generation tactics, including a qualitative report and content marketing whitepaper, captured interest and drove engagement.
- High Volume of Leads with a tight budget: Through experimentation in content distribution and marketing channels, I helped generate over 2,500 leads.
- Significant Contracts: We signed 20 contracts within 3 months, 40% of which came from big companies, significantly enhancing the agency’s credibility and portfolio.
- Improved Cost Efficiency: Through iterative testing and optimisation of our strategies, we reduced lead acquisition costs, ensuring sustainable growth for the agency.
